In Memoriam: Roland (Rollie) Zavada

Rollie Zavada, age 98, passed away last month. He was a highly credentialed Kodak employee who consulted with the ARRB on Zapruder film authenticity. His obituary may be found here.

Webmaster note: I only found out about this very sad news today when I called his wife, Carol, to check on Rollie's condition, as I knew he suffered from a bad stroke shortly after my November presentation on Z-film alteration. I had the honor and pleasure of spending a day with Rollie and Carol shortly before his stroke. I found them both to be not only intelligent but also warm, kind, and very honest. Rollie led an exemplary life. During one of my many calls with Rollie after my visit, the research community may be a little surprised to learn that he mentioned (without my questioning) that he believed there was a conspiracy. As an avid aviator, he has taken his final ascent. Our deepest condolences to Carol and their family.

Jim DiEugenio concludes his two-part review of this JFK biography by examining Peter McKenna's assessment of  Kennedy as senator and as president.
In  Part 1 of their examination of the effectiveness of the Review Board,  Andrew and Mark remind us of the firestorm that broke out over Stone's JFK,  which formed the backdrop for the ARRB formation.
Our two JFK Act experts delve into the murky realm of congressional JFK records, and how these are apparently still being hidden by the Senate itself.
In Part 3, the authors try to locate the fate of the Final Determinations. Much rides on it, including the ultimate evaluation of the Review Board.

The New York Times Never Quits

Jim DiEugenio updates the forlorn and pernicious coverage of the NY Times on the JFK case.  Ranging from 1963 until today, it has been utterly hopeless.
